IRCC: Changing Language around implied status – Temporary Residents
Did you know? Implied status now is “maintained status“!
Under immigration law, when applying for a visa, work permit or study permit extension before your current document expires, you’re allowed to remain in Canada and continue working or studying under the same conditions you were until IRCC gives a response on your new application. This used to be called “implied status” but from now on will be referred to as “maintained status“.
So when you hear it, now you know!
If you require assistance with your application or have questions about this program we can assist you.
