Experience in immigration

Over 30 years

Nevena earned her Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Sarajevo, and before immigrating to Canada, she practised law in her home country and was appointed a municipal court judge for Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1987.

In 2002, she graduated from the UBC – Seneca Immigration Practitioner Program.

Nevena is a member of the Canadian Association of Professional Immigration Consultants (CAPIC) and a former CAPIC BC Chapter, Policy and Lobbying Committee member, who worked on promoting and protecting the integrity of the profession by communication with federal and provincial government agencies and media. She was also a presenter at the CAPIC Continuous Education Seminars and CAPIC National Conference.

Nevena holds a Certificate in Tribunal Practise and has been successful in representing clients in front of the Immigration Appeal Division.

Nevena has been teaching the Immigration Practitioner Program for Ashton College since 2006 and is recipient of the Faculty Award, for her professional, positive and approachable attitude within the work place. For her contribution to the Immigration Practitioner Program and continuous positive feedback from her students, in 2020, Nevena was awarded the Special Recognition Faculty Award.

Nevena is a RCIC, a member of ICCRC in a good standing since its inception, and has had many years of experience in the field of immigration.

Nevena is an avid skier and for many years served as a parent co-coordinator for the Grouse Mt. Tyee Ski Club and the Vancouver Ski Racing Team.
